28 weeks today!!!!!

28 weeks - and week 7 of bed rest... and 2.5months to go...whew! Time for a update!

It seems this time that the days go by faster than last bed rest (Thank God!). I know that's because i have a little one running around - at least keeping my eyes busy! AND not to mention, a business to run, the very best i can from horizontal! Heading into our busiest time of the year...whew! My body may be at rest - but my brain sure isn't. And to make up for my physical lack i've had to hire hire hire! I love being able to hire and work with my friends. I've worked with friends in my past "corporate" years...and i always dreamed to be able to do it again from a "stay at home" status. And now i need the help more than ever - to keep up with this sock craziness for fall!

My Mom has been here for gosh..almost a month now - and is a HUGE help! no doubt that Sienna is FULL TIME - plus just trying to keep up with the house..etc. Rick has been in CO for a week - so it will be great to have him home - and have a "second set of hands" in the evenings for my mom..etc. Sienna is LOVING her Grammie being here. My mom is one of the most active people ever. Seriously, every day she takes sienna to the park, the pool, the mall, petting zoo, the library, or farmers markets. GOSH...WAY MORE THAN I EVER DID WITH SIENNA WHEN I WASN"T ON BED REST. She is SUPER WOMAN! And Sienna is loving every minuet of it! With my parents living so far away, I'm so thankful sienna is getting this time to really "get to know them". It's been a huge blessing.

Recently my measurements have been good. While the bed rest is hard, and the weekly shots and medications "a pain" - i feel like "it's working". (until this last week :/

July 18 - 1 week prior to bedrest - 3.1
July 25 - 22wks: doc prescribed strict bedrest - 1.8
Aug.1 - 1 week on bedrest - 1.8
Aug.8 - 2 weeks on bedrest - 2.6
Aug. 15 - 3 weeks on bedrest - 3.0
Aug. 22 - 26weeks - 2.8
Aug. 28 - 27weeks - 1.6

and for comparison - here were my measurements with Sienna:

Jan. 4 - 23 weeks. week 1 bedrest - 1.8cm
Jan. 11 - 24 weeks. week 2 bedrest - 2.5cm
Jan. 18 - 25 weeks. week 3 bedrest - 3cm
Jan. 25 - 26 weeks. week 4 bedrest - 3cm
Feb. 1 - 27 weeks. week 5 bedrest - 1.3cm
Feb. 8 - 28 weeks. week 6 bedrest - 1.5cm

CRAZY...that i had the same "drop" the same week with Sienna!

Baby Boy has been getting so big and strong (yay!). His kicks and punches have been jarring my entire stomach! And we're at that stage now were he'll push a foot out and it looks like a golf ball on my tummy. I looove feeling these strong movements like this. Sienna has also "felt" him. She'll be sitting up next to me kinda against my tummy and he'll "kick"/move on her back. A couple of times she's put her little hand back there to "push him out of the way". Great...it's starting already... HA!!

Bedrest WITH a Toddler....

When the news of bedrest hit this time around....we had *just* moved into our new house. We had an empty living room with no couch for bedrest....boxes everywhere still...and no cable yet. But surprisingly those where the least of my concerns....hot on my mind was "HOW IN THE WORLD DO YOU DO BEDREST (and 13 weeks of it) with a TODDLER?????".....

I let out a slight plead for prayer on my fb status and within minuets i get a message from this sweet girl. She wrote a sweet message (barely knowing me - but we know her family) expressing that she wanted to do anything she could to help! ....babysit, cook, clean, laundry..etc... whatever we needed. She went on and on about how she could help. And within 24 hrs she was here living with us M-F nanning Sienna! God gave me "angel-nurses" during my time of need in the hospital.....and now he has given us an "angel-nanny". SHE IS MORE than i ever dreamed of even asking God for. We are sooo sooo thankful...and feel soo sooo blessed. She is great with Sienna - and just a total help in general. Not because we ask...but because she WANTS TO!

My mom will be coming down at the end of next week and staying for about a month. Sienna and I will love having Grammy here! Then our plan is to kinda rotate her, my dad, and bailey through the next couple of months. Ending with my mom helping in Nov when baby boy is due and making his arrival!

After 1 week on bedrest my measurement was the same 1.8. Stable is good...we don't want to see any lower. So, once again we are praying we can see some better numbers in the coming weeks! Baby Boy is looking good! very active and measuring right on track! Day by day...11 more weeks on bedrest! here we go!

Horizontal

well...I guess I can just copy and paste This post again.

Yes...Farewell to my days of standing! We found out yesterday at my dr's appt that the SAME EXACT shortening that happened with Sienna has happened again this pregnancy. With sienna they found the shortening from 3-1.8 suddenly at 23 weeks. This time i'm 22 weeks with baby boy and doc found me 1.8 yesterday. So bed rest has started for me!

We are thankful for your prayers in advance - as we learn to adjust as a family in my life in horizontal (again!). Please pray for a FULL TERM pregnancy for me, grace for my husband as he takes on even more (running business, moving into a home, caring for a toddler and now for his wife on bedrest), and a solution to help meet our needs.

I'll have LOTS more computer time now! so hopefully once again i'll be able to update more :)

and if anyone has any advice or experience with being on bestrest WITH a toddler...please share :)

16 weeks and IT'S A..............................

IT'S A.........................





YEP!!! and we are soooooooooo over the moon thrilled! I guess i just kinda thought it was going to probably be a girl cause that's just what it's always been! ha! But doc said there was no questioning that this little guy is a boy! We just feel so blessed!

16 weeks along now. Cerclage surgery went well - so far my cervical measurements have been:

14 weeks - 3.0
16 weeks - 2.6

Doc said it was a good report and considers that still "stable" so that is good news. I do start the lovely P17 weekly injections this week.

We are nearing the time (1 week) when everything happened with Halle. This is one of many "stages" - that here we are again praying for peace of mind through. Praying this lil guy stays in there FULL TERM - just like his big sister!

I guess i need to change my blog name....

SURPRISE!!!! New business....New house...and now new baby!!! We are totally shocked...really excited...and a tiny bit, well...most of you know my high risk history.

I'm 12 weeks along (we didn't even know i was pregnant until right around 9 weeks). Cerclage is scheduled for next friday.

So, we are not "Rick and Melissa plus 1" anymore.... but come November we will be "plus 2". :)

And once again - we would love your prayers and support as we make this journey...this time with a toddler in tow :)
